9:11Now PlayingRussia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 has has acted as a catalyst for formerly neutral countries Sweden and Finland to seek NATO membership. While 28 of the 30 NATO members have ratified the two Nordic countries' accession, Turkey and Hungary have so far held out. European officials appear relatively sure that Hungary's legislature will eventually assent, leaving Turkey – and, in particular, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan – the chief obstacle in the path of NATO's historic Nordic expansion. But not everyone in Turkey is opposed to this latest expansion.
