That's on orders from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. He's convened the Climate Ambition Summit.
One success story is Brazil where logging in the Amazon has fallen dramatically. President Lula has strengthened the agency monitoring deforestation and rolled back some of his predecessor's anti-environmental policies. DW has been following the progress on rainforest protections there.
