The EU and its allies have agreed on energy embargoes, froze, financial assets, and implemented restrictions targeting more than 1,400 individuals. These measures come top of sanctions the EU implemented after Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014. So what has been achieved with the latest sanctions? DW anchor Chris Kober speaks with Nicholas Mulder, Modern European History professor at Cornell University and author of “The Economic Weapon: The Rise of Sanctions as a Tool of Modern War.”
