The party is currently leading in most polls over the ruling Fidesz party - the first time in over a decade since Prime Minister Viktor Orban rules Hungary. Magyar wants to be a politician "for everybody" while Hungary is divided over many issues, for example, same-sex marriage. The most recent plans by the government to ban pride events triggered protests in Budapest.
