Fresh talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire in Russia's invasion of Ukraine are underway in Saudi Arabia.

US and Russian representatives have met in Riyadh. The Kremlin says it shares the US view that the war needs to end, but says there are many "nuances" to be worked out. Despite the talks, Russia and Ukraine have continued to trade drone and missile strikes. Ukrainian officials said a missile attack on Sumy in northeastern Ukraine wounded 65 people, including more than a dozen children.

Ukrainian president Vlodymyr Zelenskyy said his country remains open to a ceasefire, but that those efforts are being blocked by Russia.
