He said it was the first time Russia had agreed to that, describing it as "game changing". He added that Moscow said it would pass into law a commitment not to take more Ukrainian territory.

Zelenskyy is in Brussels preparing for his meeting with Trump on Monday. A large group of European leaders will join him for his crucial meeting at the White House on Monday. They want to help Zelenskyy press home Kyiv's perspectives, regarding a possible deal to end the war. After meeting with EU Chief Ursula von der Leyen, he took part in a video conference with other European leaders. Before the call, Zelenskyy and von der Leyen addressed the state of negotiations on the war.
