as posted by the channelYoung people are more connected than ever – but have never felt so isolated. Why does loneliness particularly affect the generation under 30?
Studies show that almost half of young adults feel lonely. A few years ago, the figures were significantly lower. We spend time with Lalena, a DJ with thousands of social media followers, who parties with the crowds at night and fears the silence of the morning after. We meet Sean, who lost his way in the world of video games before realizing he had to make a fresh start. And we talk to Jana and Noah, looking for support after personal loss. Experts warn that social media can’t create or replace real human interaction. And they encourage young people to recognize that loneliness isn’t a sign of weakness. It is human. What helps? Openness, genuine encounters – and sometimes music or sport.
