France has deployed troops and a military cargo plane to help battle the flames, while firefighters in Spain say some blazes are spreading so fast that they cannot be fought head-on. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu described the French fires as unprecedented after one became so intense that it began generating its own winds.
