Experts agree that Trump's announcements on Truth Social can influence financial markets, and that faster access could equate with profits.
The service, called Truth API, is the subject of a lawsuit against US President Donald Trump, who is the largest stakeholder of Trump Media. The lawsuit by the investigative journalism site The Intercept and the Freedom of the Press Foundation claims that Truth API violates the US Constitution.
DW reporter Pablo Foley Elias asks Katie Fallow, free speech attorney at Columbia University’s Knight First Amendment Institute whether Truth API violates US law. Seth Stern of the Freedom of the Press Foundation explains why his organization says it does.
