The Madison County couple has five children – Landan, Samantha, Dalan, Mason and Emma.
Lana’s brother, Darin Hammond, died of suicide at the age of 46 on Nov. 1, 2017.
He and his wife, Emilia, were the parents of four children – Symphony, Gavin, Halle, and Eva.
Five months after Darin’s death, Emilia died of suicide at the age of 43 on April 5.
Dan and Lana instantly opened their home to their nieces and nephew – and they are now parenting nine children.
It’s been a year of change for all of the children but the family has remained positive and full of faith during this time of adjustment.
