The prosecution has rested its case against Lindsay Clancy and now the defense is calling witnesses.
Today, jurors heard from some of the people closest to Lindsay, including her sister and her mother, who became emotional as she described watching her daughter’s mental health deteriorate in the months before the children died.
Lindsay’s mother revealed what her daughter told her and Patrick before the killings: she was having thoughts of harming the children.
She also testified Lindsay believed her medications were “destroying her mind.”

Then, opening statements began today in the murder trial of Mario Fernandez Saldana, and prosecutors say a tire deliberately placed on a dark road was the trap used to lure Jared Bridegan out of his SUV before he was shot to death in front of his 2-year-old daughter. The state says Henry Tenon pulled the trigger, but Fernandez helped plan and arrange the killing.
Jared’s widow, Kirsten Bridegan, took the stand and gave emotional testimony about their final phone call, the difficult relationship with his ex-wife Shanna Gardner and Fernandez, and a dispute involving plans to baptize Jared’s daughter into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
