MBABANE:Sicelo ‘KhungaNkhosi’ Dlamini, the Mayiwane Member of Parliament (MP) says, a majority of emaSwati are poor and therefore, cannot afford expensive electricity bills.
Speaking to this Swaziland News when asked to comment about the recent application by the Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) seeking to increase electricity, the vibrant MP warned against such decisions saying, increasing electricity will worsen the lives of the poor and vulnerable.
“It shouldn’t be like only us who we can afford, are living in this country. A majority of the citizens are poor and therefore. increasing electricity will worsen their situation,” said the MP.
