LOBAMBA: Senate President Lindiwe Gwebu-Dlamini, the Eswatini Head of Parliament, has expressed serious concerns amid what she described as the influx of illegal foreigners in the tiny African Kingdom.
This comes after some foreigners fled to Eswatini amid “March and March” protests in the neighboring South Africa, the Senate President when speaking in Parliament on Thursday during the debate of the Ministry of Home Affairs report warned that, the country might soon be infiltrated as Asians are settling even in the rural areas with questionable Eswatini residential documents and, might be voted as Members of Parliament (MPs) and take over the country.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs must do something, there are places now in this country where it is known that Asians are exclusively residing. So now we have a country within a country?”, the Senate President asked.
On another note, the Senate President said, emaSwati are not receiving timely assistance within the Ministry of Home Affairs when applying for personal identification documents while alleging that, Asians would just come in with envelopes purported to be “containing money” and, receive assistance.
