MADLENYA: Zandile Dlamini, a widow stepmother allegedly colluded with her ‘uMngeni’ and assaulted her late husband’s child Temanene Kunene merely for reporting her to uMphakatsi amid attempts to sell home.
Close family members told this Swaziland News that, the child went to uMphakatsi to report that, her stepmother was systematically selling the home, the stepmother who first rented the house, allegedly assaulted the child.
“Lapha kusekhaya kwakhonta Gogo walomntfwana, stepmother salomntfwana sakhandza Babe walomntfwana akha indlu safike sayicedzela ngoba beyisengakapheli kodvwa Babe wemntfwana bekakhe likamelo la-lomntfwana lowatalwa entfombini. So now stepmother rented out the house and kicked out the child who reported her to uMphakatsi, the child was then assaulted”, said the child’s Aunt.
Stepmother Zandile Dlamini’s cellphone rang unanswered when this publication tried to reach her for a comment.
Reached for comments by this Swaziland News, Madlenya uMphakatsi Deputy Governor Khangisa Matse confirmed knowledge of the matter but clarified that, it’s being handled at Sigodzi level.
“We are aware of the matter but for now, it is being handled at Sigodzi level”, he said.
