2:18Now Playingollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has once again made it to the headlines and this time it is because of an ongoing court case. The Bombay HC is hearing Kangana's plea in which the actress has asked the court to quash an FIR registered against her over her comments against the farmer protests last month at Khar police station Mumbai. During the hearing, the Mumbai Police told the HC that it will not arrest the actress till January 25, 2022. On Monday, the court observed that Kanagana's application also involved her right to free speech and asked the prosecution, 'Where is the deliberate intent here? There is another angle about freedom of speech, which will have a chilling effect.' The court further added, 'There is also the larger question of the protection of freedom of speech here. Unless the police make a statement of not arresting her, we'll have to grant some relief.' However, the police also informed the court that it had sent a notice of appearance before the arrest to Kangana, but the actress didn't appear for questioning. After which Kangana's lawyer said that the actress will appear before the concerned police station on December 22. In her plea, Kangana has told the court that she had no intention to hurt the sentiments of Sikh community and that she commented against a banned organisation, asking the court to 'protect her legitimate rights and liberties by quashing the FIR.' The said case had been lodged against Kangana Ranaut on November 23 by the Khar Police in Mumbai.
