Vivek Agnihotri gets honoured by the Ohio State Senate for his film ‘The Kashmir Files’

‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter to share that the Ohio State Senate has presented a citation honouring his latest film. Sharing the news on Twitter, Vivek also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the abrogation of Article 370. He also shared a snap of the citation he received from State Senator Niraj J Antani and Senator Matt Huffman, president of the Ohio Senate. The citation reads, "The writer and director of The Kashmir Files, you are deserving of high praise for you have a special gift that has, no doubt, brought joy to those with whom you have shared your talents. Indeed, you have sought to craft a film with universal appeal that speaks to a matter of great historical importance, the forced exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits and you can be justifiably proud of your accomplishments.” In conclusion, it said, “Thus, with genuine satisfaction, we congratulate you for outstanding achievement and offer best wishes for future success.’ Sharing the citation, Vivek wrote on Twitter, "GRATITUDE:On behalf of the entire #TheKashmirFiles team and our audiences I thank State Of Ohio Senate for this honour. The world is recognising the GENOCIDE of Kashmiri Hindus and India’s great value of humanity. Thank you @narendramodi for the abrogation of article 370." ‘The Kashmir Files’ has managed to earn a massive 331 crores at the global box-office, and has collected about 246 crores in India alone, according to latest reports. The film is based on the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 and it stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, Chinmay Mandlekar, Puneet Issar, Mrinal Kulkarni among other notable actors.
