2:17Now PlayingRecently rumours were rife that Nayanthara is not happy with director Atlee for ‘chopping off her role’ in ‘Jawan’ and sidelining her character over Deepika Padukone. However, the actress has quashed all the rumours in her latest Instagram Story wherein she has dropped birthday wishes for the acclaimed director. Sharing a collage of pictures with him from the set of the film, Nayanthara wrote ‘Happy birthday @atlee47. So proud of u’ followed by hug emojis. According to recent reports, the ‘Bigil’ actress was not happy with her treatment in the film as compared to Deepika Padukone who had a cameo. Reports further stated that ‘Jawan’ was made to look like a SRK-Deepika film which did not go down well with Nayanthara who is a big superstar in the south film industry. It was also speculated that we might not see her in another Bollywood project any time soon. It is worth noting that Nayanthara was also absent from the promotional events of the film, but it was clarified that it was part of her ‘no promotions policy’. As for ‘Jawan’, the film has so far earned over Rs 525 crore at the nationwide box-office and is all set to enter the Rs 1000-crore club at the world wide box office. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles whereas it features Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani and Riddhi Dogra in supporting roles. The film also has extended cameos by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt. For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
