YouTube Description
as posted by the channelSanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit-starrer 1993 film ‘Khal Nayak’ which was directed by Subhash Ghai was a huge blockbuster at the box office. The film got even more publicity as it released around the arrest of Sanju Baba under the TADA and Arms Act. Also, the dating rumours of Sanjay and Madhuri were at its peak at that time and it was also speculated that the two might get married. According to reports, Subhash Ghai who was very concerned about the negativity around his film because of Sanjay’s arrest, made him and Madhuri sign a contract that would not allow them to get married before the release of ‘Khal Nayak’. That’s right! Apparently, the filmmaker felt that it might affect the film’s performance as people’s attention will get diverted to their marriage. Reportedly, the ‘Munna Bhai’ actor shot for ‘Khal Nayak’ while on parole. Subhash was already afraid with his arrest, and to top it, he co-incidentally played a convicted criminal with negative shades in the film. It is worth noting that these are unconfirmed reports. Apart from Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit, the film also starred Jackie Shroff in a pivotal role. It also gained popularity for the song ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’ as the lyrics were termed as vulgar. Reports also stated that Sanju was expected to win all the major awards that year for the film, but Shah Rukh Khan stole his thunder with his performance in Yash Chopra’s ‘Darr’.
