Payal Ghosh who made headlines for extending a marriage proposal to Mohammed Shami has reacted to India’s loss against Australia in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final. The actress took to X, previously known as Twitter, and wrote ‘No more cricket for me for next 6 months #INDvAUS #CWC23’. To give some background, Payal extended a marriage proposal to Mohammed Shami after his stellar performance in the World Cup. In a tweet, she wrote ‘#Shami Tum apna English sudharlo, I’m ready to marry you’ followed by two laughing emojis.’ A few days later, she also posted a cryptic message that read, ‘Dil dooba Tere Pyar Me’ which many netizens thought was for Shami. Even during the semi-final match against New Zealand when the Indian pacer took 7 wickets, the actress posted a bunch of tweets like ‘Shami you beauty’ followed by loved up emojis and ‘5 wkt haul for #Shami you are indeed a genius’. Notably, Australia defeated India by 6 wickets in the World Cup final, handing them their first ever loss in the tournament. Team India had a dominant World Cup winning 10 matches in a row but crumbled against the Aussies in the main decider match. Mohammed Shami became the highest wicket taker of the tournament with a record 24 wickets in just 7 matches. Several celebs have showed their support for Team India with various social media posts.
