3:09Now PlayingControversy queen Rakhi Sawant has moved the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of defamation and outrage of modesty case filed against her by Sherlyn Chopra. The 'Main Hoon Na' actress claimed that the complainant filed a false first information report (FIR) against her driven by a desire for revenge. 'The complete FIR filed is false and bogus. The first informant herself recorded the video of her alleged nudity and the same has been uploaded on the internet for public viewing, Rakhi has only disclosed the same', the actress-dancer claimed in the petition filed through advocate Ali Kaashif Khan. Rakhi's lawyer also added, 'The false accusations and defamatory statements made by the complainant not only caused personal distress but also ruined Sawant's once-successful career. It is evident that the complainant holds a grudge and filed the false FIR as an act of revenge,' In her defense, Khan also stated that without going into the merits of the matter, a careful examination of the FIR would indicate that the allegations are not genuine. He further mentioned that the offense of outraging modesty under Section 354A of IPC cannot be invoked against a woman as it was only applicable against men. Notably, in November 2022, Sherlyn filed an FIR, alleging that Rakhi had shown an objectionable video of her at a press conference and used derogatory language.
