His daughter Nayaab Udhas shared the sad news through her Instagram handle. Udhas, alongside fellow musicians Jagjit Singh and Talat Aziz, played a significant part in spreading the popularity of Ghazal music throughout India. In 2006, the Indian government bestowed upon Pankaj Udhas the prestigious Padma Shri award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the realms of music and art.
