1:15:09Now PlayingOn March 5th, 1982, the Soviet Union had success touching down on the fiery surface of Venus with their Venera 14 lander. Due to the crazy thick atmosphere of Venus, the probe only lasted 57 minutes on the surface. It was launched to Venus by a Proton-K/D-1 rocket on November 4th, 1981.
There's some ridiculous things that happened to this and other Venusian probes that we'll be sure and talk about.
