4:41Now PlayingActor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't hold anything back in a video on his social media page this week when he called anti-maskers "schmucks" who don't care about anyone else. He actually made some incredibly salient points in the short video, so hopefully his advice will get through to the rabid anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers who don't understand what "being free" really means in America. Farron Cousins discusses this.

Arnold. Schwartzenegger the former governor of California, Republican governor of California actor. Former bodybuilder came out this week on his social media and delivered a blistering attack against all of the selfish anti maskers. Anti-vaxxers all of the people who are helping to prolong the pandemic and the suffering here in the United States. Let me read you what he had to say. I love this by the way, I think this was absolutely one of the best rants I have ever seen attacking these individuals. Here
It is. There is a virus here. It kills people.
The only way we prevent it is to get vaccinated, to wear masks, to do social distancing, washing your hands all the time and not just to think about, well, my freedom is being disturbed here. No screw your freedom with freedom comes obligations and responsibilities. When you infect other people, that is when it gets serious. It's no different than a traffic light. We put the traffic light in the intersection so that someone doesn't kill someone else. I'm an expert on how to build a bicep. There's no one that knows more about a bicep than I do because I studied this for 50 years. And the same is also with the virus, the people out there, they're the experts that studied this year after year after year with freedom comes responsibilities. That's that's the line. That is the line that these individuals ones who say, I'm not
Going to wear a muzzle because I got my freedom. I'm not getting that vaccine cause oh,
Freedom with freedom comes these responsibilities.
Everybody always wants to compare it to, to the seatbelts or the traffic lights of the drunk driving. And I've done all those, uh, comparisons as well. But at the end of the day, we have laws in our free society and the laws are in place to protect people. That's why laws exist to protect
People. So
If we have to pass a new law and you have to get this vaccine, then guess what you have to do it. That's the price of freedom. That's the price of living in the United States, where you have the freedom to go out there and say all the stupid crap that we hear from the, the anti maskers and the anti-vaxxers.
But you do not,
And never have had the freedom to intense. He put other people in harm's way. Unless of course, you're a corporation here in the United States. Absolutely. You have all the freedom to harm as many people as you want and escape liability for it. You know, that I guess would be the one exception. Corporations can get away away with anything people on the other hand
Cannot. And
As long as we have these people out there holding these backwards beliefs, that they have a freedom to infect anybody with the virus, then this thing's going to be here for a long time. It's going to be here so long that it's going to continue to mutate. And our vaccines, those of us who have been responsible did the right thing. As soon as we possibly could. Our vaccines will be rendered useless, cause we'll be way past Delta and Lambda variants at that point. And that's why we have to get this under control now. And that's the message that Schwartzenegger was trying to send. You want to be free, then protect your fellow Americans so that we can continue to be free wearing a mask. Oh, you're going into a grocery store is not the same as asking somebody to storm a beach on Normandy. Okay. And if you want to hold up our troops as the pillars of, you know, American exceptionalism and greatness and bravery, then I would think that the least these individuals could do is throw on a mask while they run into seven 11 to get a Slurpee.
But apparently that's too much
For these sensitive little snowflakes. And they would rather go down in a blaze of freedom, glory than worry about protecting literally anyone other than themselves.
