5:10Now PlayingA campaign stop this week for Georgia senate candidate Herschel Walker quickly went off the rails when a group of (rightfully) angry voters began yelling at Walker for refusing to actually answer questions during his Q&A. Walker attempted to dance around the issue and NOT talk about the foreclosure crisis, and the voters were adamant that they weren't going to let him off easy. Farron Cousins explains what happened.

This week, Herschel Walker decided to stage a campaign event in Atlanta across the street from an apartment complex, a low income apartment complex that is owned by the church where Raphael Warnock serves as a pastor. And the reason Herschel Walker did this is because allegedly, the church that owns the low income housing, uh, complex, has been evicting people. So Walker wanted to go there, make a spectacle of it, talk about how evil, I guess, Rafael Warnock is. But things didn't go as planned because the people that he put up behind him as props were immediately questioned. Or at least the authenticity, uh, authenticity of those people was questioned by the voters and the crowds. So take a look at how quickly this entire little campaign stunt by Herschel Walker went off the rails. Here it is. Any
Of the people behind you, have they received eviction notices? And if so, could they speak to us?
Uh, no. We want you to go in and see the people behind us. That's the reason you're here. I hope you gonna go ahead and see the people behind us. That's the reason I brought you down here. You were here in Atlanta and you have not come down to see this. So I brought you down here. So now you can go in and see the people right here. I hope you gonna go in. Are you gonna do that or no? No. Are you gonna do that or no? Yes, but I Oh, you ought go in. So that's what, that's the reason I brought you here. I'm asking, I brought you here to go down right here, Walk over right here, walk over and visit the people. And we wanna make sure you visit the people. Here you go. And people as well. You going in to visit people. Got that question. Yes. Next question.
Um, worth noting that Herschel Walker still did not answer the question, right? You're trying to show that people are being evicted from this low income housing unit that Rafael Warnock Church owns. And you couldn't find anybody that had actually been evicted. So you hired, or you at least got a bunch of volunteers to pretend to be people that had been evicted. And then you refuse to answer questions. You're like, you go, you go talk to these people back out. I don't know. I don't know. This guy is a blithering idiot and whoever is advising his campaign, might I make a suggestion to you quit your job and don't ever work in politics again, because that was really dumb. Like, what did you think was gonna happen? You've got Walker up there. He doesn't even have enough IQ points to rub together to start a fire.
You put these political props behind him and then you have him take questions from the audience. My God, if you think Herschel Walker's dumb, I guess we should be looking at his campaign advisors, cuz apparently they're even stupider. You should have known better, right? You can't put that guy in that situation unless you guys are actually actually moles from the Warnock campaign trying to pretend you're working for Herschel Walker. I could see that going for you. But here's the thing. Um, I've looked into this, right, trying to find reports. Is Rafael Warnock's Church actually evicting people? And yes, eviction notices have been served for many months, but they haven't actually kicked anybody out. So they ha they haven't done it. And yeah, they have served notices, but they're not actually making the people leave. They're not tossing them out into the cold. That's not a thing that has happened. And that, by the way, is not according just to the Warnock campaign. That's according to the residents that live in the building. They have said, Yeah, we know people that have gotten notices, got notices months ago, but they're still here, right? Like they're, they're down the hall. You can go knock on their door if you want. They're still here. Nobody's actually been kicked out.
So the whole premise of Walker's, little stunt was a lie to begin with. And he gets away with it to a degree, right? You gotta give props to the people in that crowd who asked those tough questions, who basically ruined this event for Walker, which is wonderful. But we need more of that. We need more people, not just in this race, but in the races all over the country to call out these candidates when they're lying to your faces.
