Republicans Trash Lauren Boebert For Switching Districts

Lauren Boebert thought that she had a simple solution to her woes and that switching districts would guarantee her a victory. That theory is already blowing up in her face as her new Republican rivals in the 4th District are blasting her to Hell and back. They are accusing her of "forum shopping" to win reelection, and using her behavior against her to make sure the new district doesn't fall for her schtick. Meanwhile, her former constituents are also trashing her, leaving her with few allies in her state. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Republican representative Lauren Bobert thought that she could just switch districts from Colorado's third district to Colorado's fourth district. You know, just go a little bit down the road and, hey, I'm in a new district. I'm gonna run for Congress here instead of my own district where I'm getting my butt kicked both in fundraising and in the polls. She thought that by doing this, all of her problems were gone. Nobody in the fourth district has been paying attention to what I've been doing over here. Well, things are already going very badly for Lauren Bobert in the fourth district, specifically with her potential Republican challengers. There's already three Republicans that have announced they are running for the seat being vacated by Ken Buck, who currently represents the fourth district. So three Republicans have already jumped into the race. You got two others that are also planning on jumping in, or at least considering which means they will, they just haven't yet.

And those Republicans have already come out swinging against Lauren Bobert, even though this decision is only a few days old. This is from Ted Harvey, a former state lawmaker who's thinking about running. And he had this to say about Bobert Boomer has failed the conservatives in the third district to such a degree that they will no longer vote for her now in what can only be seen as a vain effort to clinging to power. She seeks to represent the voters of the fourth district, a vastly different constituency. This desperate stunt by Bobert may not only de jeopardize the Republican party's ability to retain the third district, but if she were to win the primary could place the fourth district at risk as well. Then you have state representative Richard Hol Torf, who blasted Bobert, called her, uh, said that she, she was a seat shopping, and he also said, quote, if you can't win in your home, you can't win here. She's grossly lacking in understanding the needs of the 21 counties in eastern Colorado that make up this district. She knew she'd lose in her own district, and I'll show her that she'll lose here too.

So they're not going easy on her, like just days into her decision, they're like, oh, you think you could come into my backyard and do this crap? Oh hell no. I'm gonna come after you with Fire and Fury. So she's gonna face a very tough and probably very crowded Republican primary in that fourth district, because if these two other people also jump in along with the three who've already, uh, declared, you're looking at six people including Lauren Bobert. And this could be one of those situations where a crowded primary does not benefit her because she may get so few votes that she only places, you know, fourth or fifth and then would not be a part of a runoff between the top two. And if it does go to a runoff, then that increases the likelihood that she will not carry the district in the primary and would likely lose her seat. But it's

Not just the new people in the fourth district that are hating on Bobert. Her old constituents over in the third district are also off at her. Here is what one of them, uh, constituent by the name of Lou Cameron posted on Getter, you know, the right wing, uh, uh, video site said this, and again, this is a conservative, said, this Bobert is running scared, even before the Beetlejuice debacle that embarrassed her constituents, our campaign was pulling ahead of Bobert because voters saw that we were showing up in their communities and appreciated the hard work, authenticity, sincerity, and independence that this campaign embodies. Now then Lou Cameron actually said something that I have suggested in the past, and this is very interesting. Cameron said that Bober doesn't want to go broke. She lost her restaurant and divorced her husband. And, you know, I'm not sure if she has any source of income outside her congressional salary.
