The truth is that Smith's request would actually help Donald Trump, as it would prohibit him from saying things under oath that he knows are not true, which would end up resulting in more criminal charges. So last week, as we all know, special prosecutor Jack Smith, filed a motion with Judge Tanya Chut asking her to bar Donald Trump from bringing up all kinds of disinformation and from spouting conspiracy theories during his federal trial. Well, Donald Trump kind of stewed on it for a couple days, and then later in the week, he got super and decided to say that it is somehow illegal to prevent him from saying or telling lies in court it's illegal to stop him from lying in court. Here's what Donald Trump said on true social deranged. Jack is so viciously and desperately angry that the Supreme Court just unanimously rejected his flailing attempt to rush this witch hunt, that he is ignoring the law and clear instructions from the DC Court that this case should be stayed, and there cannot be any more filings. Today's pathetic motion is not just illegal, it is also another unconstitutional attempt to take away my first amendment rights and to prevent me from saying the truth that all of these hoaxes are nothing but a political persecution of me, the MAGA movement and the Republican Party by crooked Joe and his despicable thugs.

Uh, yeah, I gotta be honest with you, man, Jack Smith's filing, first of all, it's not illegal. The ca the case has stayed, which means you're not moving forward with discovery. You can actually still file motions. Like that's not illegal at all. It's also not illegal to not let you lie in court. You lying in court by spreading misinformation or conspiracy theories. Now, that would be a crime, like you could get hit with perjury for that. So technically, Donald, you should be grateful to Jack Smith because what Jack Smith is doing here is actually taking away your ability to perjure yourself to to engage in contempt of court, both of which could end up getting you hit with more criminal charges. Like you should be thanking him, send him a fruit basket, an edible arrangement, something, because he, believe it or not, is in a weird way, probably not intentionally actually protecting you.

That's what drives me so crazy about this, is that Trump doesn't seem to understand that. Jack Smith is basically saying like, Hey, judge, if Trump starts lying in court, shut him up. Instead of saying, Hey, judge, if Trump starts lying, just let him go, and then we're gonna hit him with perjury charges, right? Which he could do, and he probably would do so. Donald, again, Jack Smith is probably unintentionally protecting you from being hit with more criminal charges, and all you wanna do is and moan and whine about your First Amendment freedoms, which, yeah, you have 'em, but you don't have the freedom. Nobody does to lie

In court. That is illegal. If I were Jack Smith at this point, seeing Donald Trump's freak out, I'd be like, you know what? You know what? Go ahead. We're gonna rescind our filing. You know what, judge? Let him take the stand and just say whatever the hell he wants. Okay? You do that. We'll, let him just go off. I'm not even gonna interrupt him. I'm not gonna object. And then once he finishes talking, once the day is over, I'm gonna go back and I'm gonna file criminal perjury charges against him, and then we're gonna have a whole new trial on our hands later on. If he wants to lie so badly, let him lie and then let him deal with the consequences. If you ask me, that's what Jack Smith needs to do at this point. Give Trump what he wants, which apparently is just enough rope to trip himself.
