2:45Now PlayingThe Macan has been Porsche’s best-selling model for almost a decade now. A sporty crossover that combines both the style and feel of the company’s sports cars with some of the practicality of the bigger Cayenne SUV. But for 2024 there’s a whole new type of Macan.
Calvin Kim, Product Spokesperson for Porsche North America, takes Forbes on a tour of the all-new, fully-electric Macan EV at the 2024 New York International Auto Show.
For Porsche, “performance is luxury,” and the Macan EV will be a scorcher, with 402 or 630 horsepower depending on the model. It will charge quickly thanks to its 800-volt architecture, which the automaker claims can go from 10 to 80% in just 21 minutes on a DC fast charger. The Macan EV rides a whole different platform than its gas-powered sibling and will ultimately replace that vehicle, but it will have the same kinds of athletic chassis and suspension designs that Macan buyers are familiar with.
