1:21Now PlayingA relaxing summer day at the lake took quite a different turn for four Washington state teens, but their quick thinking and CPR training may have saved the life of a paddle boarder in trouble.
Jessie Page, Zoe Farrell and Alexis Koester were relaxing at Lake Washington in Kirkland when they noticed something was wrong.
"We all looked over to our left and there was just and empty paddle board with no one on it," Farrell said.
The girls-- all 17-- thought the paddle boarder might be in trouble in the water, so they decided to risk being embarrassed in the end and go poke him.
"I tapped him and we got no response so we flipped him over and got him up on his board," Farrell explained.
The man was unconscious, but he coughed a little, so the girls knew he was alive. They quickly pushed his board to shore, where friends helped him get up on the dock. Another of the girls' friends, 17-year-old Erica Stewart, was on the phone with 911. Stewart knew she needed to act fast, so she started administering CPR immediately.
