The rapidly growing demand for machine learning and advanced analytics capabilities in B2C and B2B applications, coupled with the chronic shortage of data scientists, has highlighted the need for accessible machine learning tools and services that empower software developers and business people alike. A new breed of specialized, “pre-trained“ machine learning models and services are being offered by major cloud providers and startups that offer easily accessible solutions to challenging machine learning problems (e.g. image, text and speech analysis) that were until recently only accessible to machine learning experts. This talk will cover many of today’s compelling and competing offerings, highlighting their applications as well as offering insight into how this layer of empowering technology might evolve in the future.
