YouTube Description
as posted by the channelKirralie Smith is currently facing a series of legal challenges in New South Wales connected to her activism around women’s sport and sex-based rights. Over the past year, several trans-identified male athletes have taken her to court, arguing that her online posts about them amounted to harassment or unlawful vilification rather than political commentary.
Courts in NSW have agreed. She’s now subject to an apprehended personal violence order, and she’s lost multiple vilification cases—rulings that could carry significant financial penalties for her and for Binary Australia, the organisation she leads. These decisions haven’t focused on her broader views, but specifically on posts that named individual players and questioned their participation in women’s sport.
While, normally, the process is the punishment, I was intrigued by Kirralee's unflappable good humour in the face of all this harassment, and she very kindly agreed to speak to me.
I do love Streamyard and heartily recommend it
