Codi Bigsby's Father Cory Bigsby Needs Another Mental Competency Evaluation

On January 31st, 2022, at approximately 9 AM, single dad Cory Bigsby called the Hampton Police Department to report his son missing from the family's Buckroe Beach home. He told the police that he had last seen 4-year-old Cori sleeping in his bed around 2AM. On February 22nd, 2022, the police announced that Cody was the only person of interest in Codi's case. Cory was arrested on seven counts of felony child neglect charges unrelated to Codi's disappearance: he was raising his four sons on his own. He now faces 30 counts of child abuse, medical neglect-related charges, and more.

After months of searching and an extensive investigation, while not being able to find Codi's body, a grand jury has indicted Cory Bigsby, 44, on murder charges. Police believe that Codi was murdered seven months before he was reported missing. He has been denied bond five times. In March he was found mentally unfit to stand trial: a hearing is slated for June 14 to assess the efficacy of Cory Bigsby’s mental health treatment regime at Eastern State Hospital.

Cory will be in court today for a hearing related to his mental evaluation: will he be found fit to stand trial?
