21:45Now PlayingA 14-year-old boy has been arrested after responding to a 911 call in Marimonte, California, where he reported a that an intruder had broken into their home, and said it resulted in his family being attacked. He also said that the intruder had fled in a truck. The police say multiple weapons were used to attack the occupants of the home. Both of the boy's parents, Se Vang and Lue Yang, were found deceased, his sister was found injured, and his brother was unharmed.
Inconsistencies in his story and the investigation has led police to believe that the "intruder" story was unfounded. “Evidence ultimately showed that he had fabricated the story of a break in and was responsible for using multiple weapons to attack his mom, his dad and his sister,” Sheriff John Zanoni said. “The tragedy of the situation is of such a high magnitude because two children have lost their mother and father due to the actions by their other sibling. Those children will grow up without a mother and a father because of this incident.”
His name is not being revealed as he is a minor. A motive for the attacks is not yet known. He has been booked into juvenile hall and faces two murder charges, and one attempted murder charge. Let's watch the press conference together and discuss the details that we know so far.
