1:36:31Now PlayingStephan Sterns appeared in court today, March 20, 2025, at 9:00 AM EST (2:00 PM CET) for a pretrial hearing in Osceola County, Florida, related to the Madeline Soto case. This hearing addressed a motion filed by his public defender to close all future pretrial proceedings in his sexual battery case to the public and press, citing concerns that widespread media coverage could jeopardize his right to a fair trial. Unlike previous hearings where he waived attendance, Sterns was physically present today, marking a rare in-person appearance since his arrest in February 2024. CSAM-charges trial is scheduled for May 5–21, 2025. A separate murder trial for Madeline Soto’s death is scheduled for September 22, 2025, with the state seeking the death penalty.
