On July 16th, 2026, 21-year-old María Camila Potosí Gómez, who was eight months pregnant, left for a prenatal checkup in Cali, Colombia, and never returned. Security cameras captured her last moments alive boarding a motorcycle with another woman. Four days later, her body was found bound and stabbed near the Río Meléndez. The mayor and family members say the baby was no longer in her womb. Authorities are investigating multiple hypotheses, including possible fetal extraction, while a large reward has been offered for information. The case remains active.
