Hawk and his brother Falcon are heading to the LA Forum to catch the opening shows of Rush's first tour in 11 years, the Fifty Something Tour, featuring new drummer Anika Nilles. The same venue where Rush played their final show with Neil Peart in 2015 is where it all begins again.
Rush was the defining band of Hawk and Falcon's childhood, from discovering Neil Peart on a cassette copy of All the World's a Stage to camping overnight outside record stores just to get tickets. Growing up in the 70s and 80s, Rush was more than music, it was a brotherhood.
Hawk reflects on what Neil Peart meant to him as a drummer, the anticipation of seeing Rush live again, and the complicated emotions of experiencing the band without Peart. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson return to the stage with Anika Nilles, a German drumming virtuoso, stepping into one of the most legendary seats in rock history.
