Iran's response: cutting off all direct communication with the United States, per the Wall Street Journal.
A Washington Post report alleges Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has been misleading Trump about the Iran war, presenting false optimism while Iran has shot down four US aircraft including an F-15E fighter jet, an A-10 Warthog, and damaged two Black Hawk helicopters. An anonymous official quoted in the report states that as a result, Trump is repeating misleading information to the public.
Iran, according to Wall Street Journal sources, told mediators it believes it is winning, with 15,000 missiles including ballistic and hypersonic weapons and 45,000 drones still in its arsenal, while Israeli interceptor missiles are nearly depleted.
CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin warns that an escalation tonight could send oil prices two to three times higher, threaten the Strait of Hormuz, and push national gas prices above five dollars a gallon. JP Morgan echoes that warning.
