A survivor named Roza testified at a House Democratic hearing in Palm Beach, Florida, sharing one of the most disturbing accounts yet to emerge from the Jeffrey Epstein case. Roza, who had chosen to remain anonymous for years under the designation Jane Doe, lost that anonymity in January when the Department of Justice released over three million pages of Epstein files. Her full name appeared in those documents more than 500 times, unredacted, while the names of multiple men in the same files were protected. Reporters and investigators began calling her immediately.
Roza's testimony also covered the sweetheart plea deal negotiated between Epstein's legal team, which included Alan Dershowitz, and then-U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta. Prosecutors had originally drafted an indictment of 30 to 40 counts involving dozens of victims, with Epstein facing up to 24 life sentences. Instead, Acosta agreed to two felony solicitation counts, and Epstein served 13 months in county jail with daily work release, never setting foot in federal prison.
Roza was a minor during this period. According to her testimony, Epstein was sexually assaulting her while on work release, leaving jail each morning for up to ten hours and continuing to offend. This is the first time specific sworn testimony has confirmed that Epstein was committing new crimes while serving his sentence.
Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell has been moved to a minimum security work camp where she has been given significant privileges, and Donald Trump is reportedly weighing a pardon.
