8:32Now PlayingWhat happened in Kosovo during World War II. Kosovo is remembered due to its conflict in the 1990s but Kosovo in WW2 is a topic not many people know about. After the Axis invasion of Yugoslavia in 1941 the largest chuck of the region were annexed into Italian-held Albania. When Italy surrendered in 1943 the Germans controlled Kosovo fully. In 1944 the Kosovo Uprising occured. Later Kosovo became a part of Tito's Yugoslavia.
