He said, "I am astonished by the Hungarian position. We will work with our Hungarian colleagues to discuss it. I do not believe it is right for Hungary to betray its own fight for freedom, for European sovereignty - and that is why we will also approach the Hungarians once more with our arguments, both in Budapest and naturally here in Brussels, to reconsider their position, because in the end, a look at history should show that it is right to remain oriented towards Europe"
