23:43:23Now PlayingWatch LIVE visuals from Dubai after Iran launched fresh missile and drone attacks across the Gulf following the killing of Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, in joint strikes by United States and Israel targeting military and government facilities in Tehran. The strikes triggered a dramatic escalation in the Israel–Iran conflict, with Tehran vowing massive retaliation across the region.
Iran responded with waves of ballistic missiles and drones targeting Gulf locations. In Dubai, explosions and fires were reported near Dubai International Airport, Burj Al Arab, and luxury hotels on Palm Jumeirah, including the Fairmont The Palm. A terminal at the airport suffered damage and several people were injured as debris from intercepted drones and missiles hit parts of the city.
Authorities confirmed fires and smoke in multiple locations including Jebel Ali Port, the Downtown Dubai / Burj Khalifa area, and along the Sheikh Zayed Road corridor as air-defence systems intercepted incoming threats. Flight operations at Dubai International Airport were disrupted, and hundreds of flights across the Middle East were cancelled or diverted as airspace closed across several countries.
The latest wave of attacks comes a day after Iran launched one of the largest missile barrages in the region, firing more than 100 missiles and hundreds of drones toward the UAE and other Gulf states, many of which were intercepted by regional air-defence systems.
Drone and missile attacks have also been reported across the Gulf, with Bahrain and Kuwait placed on high alert as air-defence systems were activated to intercept incoming threats. Several of these countries host major U.S. military installations, making them key targets as the conflict expands beyond Iran and Israel into a wider regional confrontation.
With explosions reported in multiple cities, airports shutting down, and airspace closures affecting thousands of travelers, fears are growing that the war between Iran, Israel, and the United States could spiral into a broader Middle East conflict.
