Backing a war powers resolution, Van Hollen made it clear:
“The United States will not be dragged into conflict… a conflict that does not serve American interests.” He warned that Americans are already paying the price for ongoing tensions, adding, “A war that has no end in sight… making us less safe and worse off.”

Highlighting decades of failed policy, he argued: “For over 60 years, this approach has not delivered results… same old policy, no better results — in fact, worse.”
