World News: Iran has issued a stark and uncompromising warning to the United States as tensions escalate in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical gas shipping routes. The warning comes even as U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth insists Washington maintains control and is ensuring “freedom of navigation” in the region.

Speaking from Tehran, Iranian lawmaker Manouchehr Mottaki drew a clear red line, warning the U.S. against any aggressive moves in the strategic waterway. “The Strait of Hormuz is a red line,” Mottaki said, cautioning that American naval activity would not go unanswered.

He revealed that Iranian forces had already responded to recent U.S. movements. “Several shots were fired by the Iranian army and navy toward American naval vessels that sought to transit the Strait. However, this time the hit was near them. There is no doubt: if they are insolent enough to try again, they will be shot directly,” he warned.

In a chilling escalation, Mottaki made it clear that Iran is prepared for further conflict if necessary. “We will not lose the Strait of Hormuz, even at the cost of another war,” he declared.

Despite the aggressive tone, Mottaki emphasized that Iran does not intend to disrupt global oil flows entirely, acknowledging the world’s dependence on the region’s energy supply — including the United States. However, he urged Washington to step back from the conflict.

“The best course for America is to step aside from this war… The people of the world will draw their own conclusions,” he added.

The remarks come amid rising tensions following U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a naval blockade on Iranian ports, after Tehran restricted access to the Strait for what it called “unfriendly” nations. The situation has remained volatile since a joint U.S.-Israel strike on Iran earlier this year triggered retaliatory attacks across the region.

Although a ceasefire was announced last month, ongoing naval clashes and stalled negotiations have raised fears of a renewed escalation. With both sides hardening their positions, the Strait of Hormuz has once again become the focal point of a high-stakes geopolitical standoff.
