In this episode of The IKhanic Show, I go over five tips for Robinhood Investing that helped me make over $5,400 last week! Robinhood Investing for Beginners in 2020 has been quite a journey, but I hope my five tips help you become profitable. I go over how I leveraged stocks like Tesla (TSLA), Nio (NIO), Power Plug (PLUG), and Pivotal Investment/XL Fleet(PIC / XL) to grow my portfolio. My Robinhood Investment Tips that teach you How To Invest are as follows:
1. Mindset - Get your mindset right. Stocks should not be treated as a get rich quick scheme. Instead, treat it like any other trade or skill. Invest your time and effort to learn as much as you can about stocks. Percentage increase is far more important than profit. Your portfolio should have a steady growth pattern, not a choppy, sporadic chart.
2. Stick to the same stocks - I personally believe that if you want to be a successful trader, you should stick to the same large cap, big stock names. Learn their movement and behavior and their price action. I personally follow big tech like Facebook (FB), Tesla (TSLA), and Apple (AAPL). Learning their price action will allow you to notice patterns and use the volatility to your advantage. If you play a different stock everyday, other traders will beat you.
3. Buy the dip - Learn to hold stocks when they are down. It is one of the hardest skills to acquire. You much change your psychology so that you buy when the market is down and not sell. Many new traders see their account going down and their first reaction is to sell. Or they see stocks going up, and their first reaction is to FOMO and buy. This is the worst thing you can do. Learn to buy when stocks are down and dollar cost average. You should rarely have to sell big name stocks at a loss.
4. Don't Give up - Becoming profitable takes time. People are making money a million different ways in the stock market. It takes most traders 6-12 months to discover patterns and develop their own edge. As a beginner trader your biggest goal should be to not burn your account like 90% of traders.
5. Risk Management - You will never become a successful trader if you don't have strong risk management. You should be taking calculated risks where your profit will ultimately be higher than your max loss. You should know before entering a trade how much you're willing to lose. You should not be going into a single trade with your whole account. You will ultimately burn your trading account if you take too many big risks.
