Back in 2019, police officer Ravi Singh responded to a welfare check on a woman seen lying with her dog on the grass. As the dog approached the officer, he tried shooting at the pet but instead, he accidentally shot and killed Margarita Brooks. In court, jurors learned that she was killed by a bullet that had ricocheted. The defense said the officer feared he'd be mauled and it was an accident
