The West Melbourne Police Department says a sergeant in a patrol car noticed a vehicle drifting into the intersection when it should have been stopped at a red light. According to authorities, an unresponsive 77-year-old man was behind the wheel. West Melbourne Police said in a statement on Facebook that the officer’s fast response “prevented this minor incident from becoming a bigger one.”
