Officials say they are required to remove books that contain “sexual content.” The language provided in the city council ordinance is broad enough to include any books that talk about the human body or puberty. A book on boating, that includes a drawing of early sailors and a picture of a child in a bathtub with a toy boat, was removed from the shelf.
