POWER POSITIVE - Reacting to Reviews

Over the past two weeks I’ve read some of the more humorous negative book reviews here on IGTV…humorous to me anyway…the people writing them seem quite serious. If you skim through the bad reviews you will see some that are nasty and intentionally hurtful, but that comes with the territory; it’s part of the deal. I am extremely fortunate that the VAST majority of the reviews of my first two novels are outstanding and I sincerely appreciate everyone who took time out of their busy days to spread the word in a positive and insightful way. As an author, the positive reviews are much more fun to read as I scan the review section of Amazon. I will never forget that the reason these novels are such a success is because of the grass roots word of mouth efforts from readers who took a risk on an unknown and then told a friend, who in turn tried a debut author with a new protagonist, Navy SEAL sniper James Reece. I have not been on any national news outlets, any of the most widely downloaded podcasts, or been written up in the New York Times, nor did I have a platform from a life in politics or professional sports. These novels have the traction they do because of passionate readers like you: rifle hunters, bowhunters, shooters, veterans, Land Cruiser aficionados, knifemakers, martial artists, police officers, firefighters, active duty military, truck drivers, ski patrollers, river guides, podcasters, dog trainers, pilots, aspiring BUD/S candidates, doctors, lawyers, and people covering the full socio-economic spectrum. Thank you, one and all, for trusting me with your most precious and valuable commodity, your time. I will forever be indebted to all of you who took a risk, chose to spend that time in the pages of my novels with James Reece, and then told a friend.
