YouTube Description
as posted by the channelTonight’s update is a mess of military escalation, denial, and political flailing. Six Americans were killed when a US refueling plane crashed over Iraq — not shot down — bringing the number of servicemembers killed in action in Operation Epic Fury to thirteen. At the same time, the Pentagon is sending more warships and Marines to the Middle East as Iran ramps up attacks around the Strait of Hormuz. Officials say it’s not enough for a full invasion, but it is enough for a targeted strike or an evacuation. In other words, we are sliding deeper into this war while pretending we’re somehow still in control.
Trump, meanwhile, is saying whatever pops into his head. He claims there are 1,700 Iranian sleeper cells inside the US, yet apparently has arrested none of them. He says Iran is about to surrender, then Iran’s leadership publicly vows to keep fighting. He says he’ll know in his bones when the war should end, which is not exactly the strategic doctrine you want from a president. And Pete Hegseth keeps insisting Iran’s leaders are underground and panicked, even as they were literally out in public.
The White House is also struggling to contain the political fallout. JD Vance is reportedly leaking that he was skeptical of the war from the start, which is politician-speak for: this is going badly and he wants distance before 2028. Then he tried blaming Biden for gas prices that are rising because of this war. That is nonsense. Trump is even using the coffin of a dead US servicemember in a fundraising email, because apparently there is no floor anymore.
And the costs are already hitting everywhere. Oil keeps rising, airlines are jacking up fares, and the administration reportedly did not seriously plan for Iran closing the strait because it assumed Tehran wouldn’t dare. That is reckless. Even more absurd, Trump is dismissing Ukrainian drone help while the US and Saudi Arabia are turning to cheaper Ukrainian anti-drone tech because Patriot missiles are too expensive for this kind of fight. So that’s the real story tonight: more death, more escalation, more lies, and an administration improvising its way through a war it still does not seem to understand.
