Iran War Worsens

On tonight’s show, I’ll be discussing Trump’s increasingly unhinged threats to launch an even larger attack on Iran—even though his own CIA reportedly concluded that more bombing wouldn’t change Iran’s negotiating position. Trump says Iran “hasn’t received enough pain yet,” and claims Israel would join the attack within two minutes if he asked. Meanwhile, his proposed nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia suddenly requires the Saudis to join the Abraham Accords. Does Saudi Arabia know this?

I’ll also explain how the war is continuing to spread. Iran still hasn’t backed down in the Strait of Hormuz, the Houthis have now attacked two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, and Trump is threatening “major military punishment” against both the Houthis and Iran. We’re now facing threats to two of the world’s most important shipping routes at the same time. Brent crude is back above $100 a barrel, and the average price of regular gasoline has climbed to $4.09—after briefly falling to around $3.71 when Trump declared that he had “solved” the crisis.

I’ll then be discussing the Justice Department’s decision to withdraw its subpoenas for New York Times reporters who investigated the security capabilities of Trump’s new Qatari-built Air Force One, and the White House’s announcement that it won’t intervene in the extradition of Andrew and Tristan Tate. Both Tate brothers are followed by JD Vance, Andrew Tate has communicated with Don Jr. and Barron Trump, and the Tates were part of the manosphere support behind Trump’s 2024 campaign.

I’ll also look at Trump’s extraordinary new assault on the Endangered Species Act—a policy under which animals could be declared threatened with extinction while Americans are still permitted to kill, trap and harass them. The administration is also forcing regulators to weigh the economic cost of protecting habitats, exempting Gulf oil and gas companies from endangered-species protections, and declaring that destroying an animal’s habitat no longer necessarily counts as harming it.

And finally, I’ll break down the new Washington Post-Ipsos poll showing that nearly two-thirds of Americans oppose Trump’s ballroom, Reflecting Pool and triumphal arch projects—including 73 percent of independents—and the latest Fox News poll showing Democrats at 53 percent in the generic congressional ballot, the highest number either party has received in Fox’s polling since 1996.
