as posted by the channelIn this update video, I catch up with Solon Roman, an ex-gangster from Mannenberg, Cape Flats, who I’ve previously documented in a few videos. Solon was once part of the notorious Americans gang, where his brother was a high-ranking member. In our first documentary, Solon was emotional and struggling, but since then, his life has completely turned around. After our video went viral, he was taken in by Sons of God Reach, a rehabilitation program just outside of Cape Town, and he’s made incredible progress.
Recently, Solon’s brother was killed in a gang fight, and shortly after, Solon was shot twice in a separate incident. He miraculously survived and is back at the rehabilitation centre, where he’s graduated from the program and is continuing his recovery journey.
